Hartford County resident Angelo F Pascuzzi, age 60, of New Britain, was killed around 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, when police in Westerly, Rhode Island received a call reporting a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at Shore and Langworthy Road in Westerly, said Chief Shawn Lacey.
According to Lacey, the first arriving officers found an accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle, along with the two passengers of the motorcycle including Pascuzzi and Tamala Facas, 50, of Westerly.
Both were suffering from life-threatening injuries, he said.
Officers administered emergency first aid until EMS and Fire arrived. Pascuzzi was transported to Westerly Hospital by Westerly Ambulance where he was later pronounced dead, the chief said.
Facas was transported by ambulance to Westerly Walmart parking lot where she was transferred to a helicopter and taken to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center where she is listed in critical condition.
The operator of the pickup truck was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
The accident is under investigation by the Westerly Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
